Pani Puri Sushi Rolls
Pani Puri Sushi Rolls are a fusion dish that combines the flavors of Indian street food with the presentation of Japanese sushi. These bite-sized rolls are perfect for a fun and flavorful appetizer or snack.
Ingredients
- 1 cup semolina (sooji)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- Water
- 1 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
- 1/4 cup tamarind chutney
- 1/4 cup mint-coriander chutney
- 1/2 tsp chaat masala
- 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 cup sev (crispy chickpea noodles)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the semolina, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking soda. Add water gradually to form a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll them out into thin discs.
- Heat a pan over medium heat and cook the discs until they puff up and turn golden brown. Set aside to cool.
- In a bowl, mix together the boiled and mashed potatoes, chopped onions, coriander leaves, chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, and red chili powder.
- Place a spoonful of the potato mixture on each semolina disc. Drizzle with tamarind chutney and mint-coriander chutney.
- Sprinkle sev on top and roll up the discs into sushi rolls.
- Cut the rolls into bite-sized pieces and serve immediately.
