Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 vanilla bean, split and seeds scraped out
- 2 teaspoons agar agar powder
- 1/4 cup cold water
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla bean seeds. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture almost comes to a simmer.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the agar agar powder and cold water. Let it sit for 5 minutes to soften.
- Once the cream mixture is hot, remove the vanilla bean and slowly whisk in the agar agar mixture. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and pour the mixture into serving glasses or molds. Let them cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
- Serve the panna cotta chilled, topped with fresh berries or a drizzle of honey.
