Pashtun Lamb Tikka
Pashtun Lamb Tikka is a traditional dish from Pashtun Cuisine, known for its bold flavors and aromatic spices. This recipe combines tender pieces of lamb marinated in a flavorful blend of spices and grilled to perfection.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs lamb, cut into cubes
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together yogurt, ginger garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and lemon juice.
- Add the lamb cubes to the marinade and coat them evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated lamb cubes onto skewers, alternating with slices of onion.
- Brush the skewers with oil and grill for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the lamb is cooked to your desired doneness.
- Remove from the grill and garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve hot with naan or rice.
