Paska Party
Paska is a traditional Ukrainian Easter bread that is rich, sweet, and beautifully decorated. It's a perfect centerpiece for any Easter celebration, and making it can be a fun and festive activity for the whole family.
Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup golden raisins
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, then place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and knead in the raisins and almonds.
- Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a greased baking sheet.
- Cover the loaf and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the paska for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let the paska cool before serving.
