Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup golden raisins
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, then place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Punch down the dough and knead in the raisins and almonds.
  6. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a greased baking sheet.
  7. Cover the loaf and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the paska for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Let the paska cool before serving.
