Paskha Pleasure
Paskha is a traditional Russian dessert typically enjoyed during Easter. This creamy, rich, and sweet treat is a delightful way to celebrate the holiday with family and friends.
Ingredients
- 16 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup golden raisins
- 1/2 cup chopped almonds
- 1/4 cup candied fruit, chopped
Instructions
- In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
- Add the sour cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Gently fold in the softened butter, golden raisins, chopped almonds, and candied fruit.
- Line a paskha mold or a small strainer with cheesecloth. Spoon the mixture into the mold, cover with the excess cheesecloth, and place a weight on top to press out excess liquid.
- Refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
- Unmold the paskha onto a serving plate, remove the cheesecloth, and decorate with additional candied fruit and nuts if desired.
