Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Stir in the paprika, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Place the diced potatoes in a pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until the potatoes are tender. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  4. Add the milk, butter, and Parmesan cheese to the pot with the potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Spread half of the mashed potatoes in the bottom of a greased baking dish. Top with the beef mixture, then the remaining mashed potatoes.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  8. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
