Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Season the beef with cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
- Boil the diced potatoes in a pot of salted water until tender. Drain and mash the potatoes with milk and butter until smooth and creamy.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spread half of the mashed potatoes in the bottom of a greased baking dish.
- Top the potatoes with the seasoned ground beef mixture.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the beef layer.
- Spread the remaining mashed potatoes over the cheese layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
