Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 carrot, peeled and diced
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add water, tossing with a fork until a dough forms. Shape into a disk, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the diced onion, potatoes, carrot, and ground beef. Season with salt and pepper.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. On a floured surface, roll each portion into a circle.
- Place a portion of the filling on one half of each dough circle. Fold the other half over the filling and crimp the edges to seal.
- Place the pasties on a baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
