Ingredients
- 4 green plantains, peeled and sliced
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 2 tomatoes, diced

- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Fry the plantain slices until golden brown, then remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the onions and garlic until soft.
- Add the tomatoes, salt, and pepper, and cook until the tomatoes are soft and the mixture thickens to form the hogao sauce.
- Flatten the fried plantain slices and fry them again until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve the patacones with the hogao sauce on top.
