Patra Ni Macchi (पत्रा नी माच्छी)

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of white fish fillets
  • 1 cup fresh coriander leaves
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 4-5 green chilies
  • 1/2 cup grated coconut
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 banana leaves, cut into 8x8 inch squares

Instructions

  1. Clean the fish fillets and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a blender, combine coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilies, grated coconut, cumin seeds, sugar, lemon juice, and salt. Blend into a smooth chutney.
  3. Spread the chutney over the fish fillets, ensuring they are evenly coated. Marinate for 15 minutes.
  4. Place each marinated fish fillet on a banana leaf square and wrap it securely.
  5. Steam the wrapped fish fillets for 10-12 minutes until they are cooked through.
  6. Serve hot with steamed rice or bread.
