Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 2 large eggs

- 1/2 cup milk
- 3-4 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk, until just combined. Spread the batter into the prepared cake pan.
- Arrange the peach slices on top of the batter. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the peaches.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
