Peach Pie (Plăcintă cu piersici) is a traditional Moldovan dessert that combines the sweetness of ripe peaches with a flaky pastry crust. This delicious pie is perfect for enjoying during the summer months or as a special treat for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 4-5 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 unbaked pie crust
- 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla extract. Mix well to coat the peaches evenly.
- Place the pie crust in a pie dish and crimp the edges as desired.
- Pour the peach filling into the pie crust and dot the top with pieces of butter.
- Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.
