Peanut Chutney (spicy Shenga Chutney)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup roasted peanuts
  • 2-3 dried red chilies
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2-3 garlic cloves
  • 1 small piece of tamarind
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine roasted peanuts, dried red chilies, chopped onion, garlic cloves, tamarind, and salt.
  2. Add water as needed to blend into a smooth chutney.
  3. Transfer the chutney to a serving bowl.
  4. Temper with mustard seeds, curry leaves, and a pinch of asafoetida for added flavor (optional).
