Peas And Cottage Cheese Curry (bhojpuri Matar Paneer)
This Peas and Cottage Cheese Curry, also known as Bhojpuri Matar Paneer, is a classic dish from the Bhojpuri Cuisine. It's a delicious and creamy curry made with peas and cottage cheese, flavored with aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- 1 cup peas
- 200g cottage cheese (paneer), cubed
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Then, add tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
- Now add turmeric, red chili powder, and garam masala. Cook for a few minutes.
- Add peas and cottage cheese, and mix well. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream and simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
