Ingredients

  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 cup cottage cheese (paneer), cubed
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 1 green chili, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter) or oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee or oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chili. Sauté for a few minutes.
  3. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.
  4. Stir in the turmeric, coriander, garam masala, and red chili powder. Cook for a couple of minutes.
  5. Add the peas and cottage cheese, and mix well with the masala.
  6. Pour in the heavy cream and season with salt. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the curry thickens.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
