Ingredients

  • 1 cup green peas
  • 1 cup cottage cheese (paneer), cubed
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter) or oil
  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee or oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add the ginger and garlic paste, green chilies, and sauté for a minute.
  3. Stir in the tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates from the masala.
  4. Add the green peas and cook for 5 minutes, then add the cubed cottage cheese and mix gently.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and garam masala. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the curry thickens.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve hot with rice or naan.
