Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter)
- 1 cup green peas, boiled and mashed
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon green chili, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the flour and ghee. Add water as needed to make a stiff dough. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add grated ginger, chopped green chili, and sauté for a minute.
- Add mashed green peas, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes. Let the filling cool.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a small disc and place a spoonful of the filling in the center. Bring the edges together and seal the dough to form a ball. Flatten the ball gently.
- Heat oil in a pan for frying. Fry the stuffed pastries on medium heat until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the pastries from the oil and drain on a paper towel.
- Serve the peas stuffed pastries hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
