Ingredients
- 500g pork sausage meat
- 2 apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tsp fresh sage, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 500g puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the pork sausage meat, diced apples, chopped onion, sage, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into rectangles.
- Divide the sausage mixture into 12 portions and shape each portion into a log. Place a log of sausage mixture onto each pastry rectangle.
- Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg, then roll the pastry around the sausage mixture, pressing the edges to seal.
- Cut each roll into smaller pieces and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops of the sausage rolls with the remaining beaten egg.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and the sausage is cooked through.
- Allow the sausage rolls to cool slightly before serving.
