Ingredients

  • 2 lbs stewing beef, cut into chunks
  • 1 lb pork, cut into chunks
  • 1 lb lamb, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup cassareep
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 cloves
  • 4 whole allspice berries
  • 2 hot peppers, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the beef, pork, lamb, cassareep, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
  2. Add the cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice berries, hot peppers, onion, and garlic to the pot. Continue to simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  3. Season with salt to taste and serve hot with rice or bread.
