Pesarattu Pancakes
Pesarattu Pancakes are a popular South Indian dish from Andhra Cuisine, made with green gram (moong dal) and rice. These savory pancakes are nutritious, delicious, and perfect for a healthy breakfast or snack.
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole green gram (moong dal), soaked for 4-6 hours
- 1/2 cup raw rice, soaked for 4-6 hours
- 2-3 green chilies
- 1-inch piece of ginger
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Oil for cooking
Instructions
- Drain the soaked green gram and rice. Grind them together with green chilies, ginger, and salt to a smooth batter.
- Add chopped onions and coriander leaves to the batter. Mix well.
- Heat a non-stick pan or griddle and pour a ladleful of batter. Spread it into a thin circle.
- Drizzle oil around the edges and cook until the bottom is golden brown. Flip and cook the other side until it's cooked through.
- Repeat with the remaining batter to make more pancakes.
- Serve hot with chutney or sambar.
