Peshawari Mutton Karahi (پشاوری مٹن کڑاہی)

Ingredients

  • 1 kg mutton, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup ghee
  • 2 onions, finely sliced
  • 4 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 green chilies, sliced
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a karahi or deep cooking pot.
  2. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add mutton pieces and cook until they change color.
  4. Stir in ginger paste, garlic paste, and green chilies. Cook for a few minutes.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes, cumin seeds, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Cover and cook on low heat for 45-50 minutes or until the mutton is tender.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
