Phaksha Phat Ko Masu (bhutanese Style Spiced Pork Ribs)
Phaksha Phat Ko Masu is a traditional Bhutanese dish of spiced pork ribs that is popular in Sikkimese Cuisine. This flavorful and aromatic dish is a perfect combination of tender pork ribs and a blend of aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- 1 kg pork ribs
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 green chilies, sliced
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot or deep pan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onions, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Sauté until the onions are soft and translucent.
- Add the pork ribs to the pot and cook until they are browned on all sides.
- Stir in the chopped tomatoes, green chilies, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to coat the ribs with the spices.
- Pour in enough water to cover the ribs and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover the pot, and simmer for 1 hour or until the pork is tender.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
