Pholourie Frenzy

Ingredients

  • 2 cups split pea flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric

  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper

  • 1 cup water
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the split pea flour, baking powder, turmeric, cumin, pepper, and salt.
  2. Add water gradually and mix to form a smooth, thick batter.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot over medium heat.
  4. Using a spoon, drop small portions of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Remove the pholourie from the oil and drain on paper towels.
