Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh fish fillets
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Cut the fish fillets into thin strips.
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, water, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Place the fish strips in the marinade, making sure they are fully coated. Let them marinate for 1-2 hours.
- Remove the fish strips from the marinade and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Place the fish strips on a wire rack and let them air-dry for 4-6 hours, or until they become dry and jerky-like.
- Once dried, store the pikegtaq in an airtight container for up to several months.
