Ingredients

  • 1 cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 2 carrots, julienned
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 4 Scotch bonnet peppers, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the cabbage, carrots, onion, bell pepper, and Scotch bonnet peppers.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the vinegar, lime juice, salt, and sugar over medium heat until the salt and sugar are dissolved.
  3. Pour the hot liquid over the vegetables and toss to combine.
  4. Transfer the pikliz to a jar and let it cool to room temperature.
  5. Once cooled, cover the jar and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.
