Ingredients
- 4 large bell peppers
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 lb ground meat (beef, pork, or a combination)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1/2 cup grated cheese (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes.
- In a skillet, cook the ground meat, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the meat is browned and the onion is tender.
- Stir in the cooked rice, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Stuff the bell peppers with the meat and rice mixture.
- In a separate bowl, mix the tomato sauce and broth. Pour the mixture into a baking dish, then place the stuffed peppers in the dish.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the peppers are tender.
- If using cheese, sprinkle it over the peppers during the last 5 minutes of baking.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
