Ingredients
- 500g fish fillets, cut into chunks
- 2 tomatoes, sliced
- 3 red chilies, sliced
- 4 shallots, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 stalks lemongrass, bruised
- 3 kaffir lime leaves
- 2 Tbsp tamarind paste
- 1 Tbsp palm sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 cups water
Instructions
- In a pot, bring water to a boil. Add shallots, garlic, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add fish, tomatoes, chilies, tamarind paste, palm sugar, and salt. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- Adjust the taste with more salt or sugar if needed.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
