Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour, cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Mix well and pour into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  3. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. In a separate bowl, mix together 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Stir in the milk until smooth. Pour this mixture over the melted butter, but do not stir.
  4. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter. Do not stir. The batter will rise to the top during baking.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
