Piri Piri Shrimp Tacos (Tacos de Camarão Piri Piri)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp piri piri sauce
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the shrimp with piri piri sauce, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through.
  3. Warm the corn tortillas in the skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.
  4. Assemble the tacos by placing the cooked shrimp on the tortillas and topping with shredded lettuce, diced tomato, red onion, and cilantro.
  5. Serve the tacos with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the filling.
