Ingredients

  • 1 tsp active dry yeast

  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped dill

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, egg, and vegetable oil. Knead the dough until smooth, then cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
  3. In a skillet, sauté the onion until translucent. Add the ground beef, paprika, and black pepper. Cook until the beef is browned. Stir in the chopped dill and remove from heat.
  4. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a circle and place a spoonful of the beef filling in the center. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
  5. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the pirozhki until golden brown on all sides.
