Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 12 anchovy fillets
- 1/4 cup black olives
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until soft and golden, about 20 minutes.
- Sprinkle the sugar, thyme, salt, and pepper over the onions and continue to cook for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry and place it on a baking sheet. Prick the pastry with a fork.
- Spread the caramelized onions evenly over the pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Arrange the anchovy fillets in a crisscross pattern over the onions, then place the black olives in the gaps.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and crisp.
- Let the pissaladière cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
