Pisupo (island Style Beef Skewers)
Pisupo, also known as Island Style Beef Skewers, is a traditional dish from the Solomon Islands that is bursting with flavor and perfect for grilling.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs beef sirloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 red bell pepper, cut into chunks
- 1 green bell pepper, cut into chunks
- 1 large red onion, cut into chunks
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and black pepper. Add the beef cubes to the marinade and let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated beef, bell peppers, and onion onto the soaked skewers, alternating the ingredients.
- Grill the skewers for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness and the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
