Pizza de Cachapa, also known as Cachapa Pizza, is a delicious fusion dish that combines the flavors of Venezuelan cachapas with the concept of a pizza. It's a unique and flavorful way to enjoy the traditional corn pancake in a new and exciting form.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of fresh corn kernels
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup of sliced ham
- 1/2 cup of sliced bell peppers
- 1/4 cup of sliced red onions
- 1/4 cup of tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon of oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the fresh corn kernels, all-purpose flour, milk, salt, and pepper. Blend until you have a smooth batter.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spread the corn batter on a pizza pan to form the crust.
- Bake the crust for 10 minutes to partially cook it.
- Remove the crust from the oven and spread the tomato sauce over it.
- Top the pizza with shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced ham, bell peppers, and red onions.
- Sprinkle oregano on top and return the pizza to the oven.
- Bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Slice and serve hot.
