Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 500g prepared pastry dough

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  3. Season the meat with paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
  4. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  5. Roll out half of the pastry dough and line a pie dish with it.
  6. Spread the cooked meat mixture over the pastry in the pie dish.
  7. Roll out the remaining pastry dough and place it over the meat filling. Seal the edges and trim off any excess dough.
  8. Make a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape during baking.
  9. Bake the placinta cu carne in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  10. Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
