Plum Jelly
Plum jelly is a delicious and versatile spread that can be enjoyed on toast, biscuits, or as a glaze for meats. This recipe is simple to make and requires just a few ingredients.
Ingredients
- 4 cups of ripe plums, pitted and chopped
- 3 cups of granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup of lemon juice
- 1 pouch of liquid pectin
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the chopped plums, sugar, and lemon juice.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly.
- Once boiling, stir in the liquid pectin and continue to boil for 1 minute.
- Remove the pot from the heat and skim off any foam from the surface of the jelly.
- Pour the hot jelly into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch of headspace.
- Seal the jars with lids and rings, then process in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
- Allow the jelly to cool and set before serving.
