Plum Tart (quetschentaart)
This Plum Tart, also known as Quetschentaart, is a traditional dessert from Luxembourg. It features a buttery crust filled with sweet and juicy plums, making it the perfect treat for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 2 lbs plums, pitted and halved
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of a tart pan. Arrange the plum halves over the crust.
- Sprinkle the plums with 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 40 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the plums are tender.
- Let the tart cool before serving.
