Poffertjes
Poffertjes are a traditional Dutch treat, similar to small, fluffy pancakes, typically served with powdered sugar and butter.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Add the warm milk and eggs, then whisk until smooth.
- Cover the bowl and let the batter rise for 30 minutes.
- Heat a poffertjes pan over medium heat and brush with melted butter.
- Pour the batter into the pan, filling each dimple halfway.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- Repeat with the remaining batter.
- Serve poffertjes with powdered sugar and butter.
