Polish Łazanki Surprise (Łazanki)

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. wide egg noodles
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 4 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the bacon drippings in the skillet.
  3. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in the shredded cabbage and cook until wilted.
  5. Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet and mix well with the cabbage and onion mixture.
  6. Stir in the sour cream and cooked bacon. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.
