Ingredients

Instructions

  2. Sprinkle the sugar over the onions and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  3. Pour in the beef broth and bring the soup to a simmer. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Preheat the broiler. Ladle the soup into oven-safe bowls. Place a slice of bread on top of each bowl and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  5. Place the bowls under the broiler and broil until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Remove from the broiler and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
