Ingredients

  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 12 plums, pitted and halved
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the mashed potatoes, flour, egg, and salt to form a dough.
  2. Divide the dough into small portions and flatten each portion in your hand.
  3. Place a plum half in the center of each flattened dough portion and shape the dough around the plum to form a dumpling.
  4. In a pot of boiling water, carefully drop the dumplings and cook for 5-7 minutes or until they float to the surface.
  5. In a separate pan, mix the sugar and cinnamon. Roll the cooked dumplings in the sugar mixture to coat.
  6. Sprinkle the dumplings with bread crumbs before serving.
