Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, sour cream, and water. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the flour mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  2. On a floured surface, knead the dough until smooth. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the plums, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  4. Roll out the dough and cut into circles. Place a spoonful of plum filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges to seal.
  5. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook the pierogi in batches for 3-4 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
  6. In a skillet, melt the butter and add the bread crumbs. Cook until golden brown. Serve the pierogi with the buttered bread crumbs on top.
