Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons Sichuan peppercorns
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 3 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- Cooked white rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili garlic sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch. Set aside.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the Sichuan peppercorns and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour the sauce mixture and chicken broth into the skillet with the chicken. Stir to combine and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in the green onions.
- Serve the Pollo Picante Sichuan over cooked white rice.
