Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons Sichuan peppercorns
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • Cooked white rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili garlic sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the Sichuan peppercorns and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture and chicken broth into the skillet with the chicken. Stir to combine and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the green onions.
