Pomeranian Tarta z grzybami i serem, or Pomeranian Mushroom and Cheese Tart, is a traditional dish from the Pomeranian region of Poland. This savory tart is a delicious combination of earthy mushrooms and creamy cheese, encased in a flaky pastry crust.
Ingredients
- 500g puff pastry
- 500g mixed mushrooms, sliced
- 200g cheese, grated
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan and cook until they release their liquid and become golden brown. Season with thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Roll out the puff pastry and place it in a tart pan. Prick the base with a fork.
- Sprinkle half of the grated cheese over the pastry base.
- Spoon the cooked mushrooms and onion mixture over the cheese.
- Top with the remaining grated cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
