Ingredients

  • 4 pomfret fish, cleaned and scored
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for shallow frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix turmeric powder, red chili powder, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, and salt to form a marinade.
  2. Apply the marinade to the scored pomfret fish, ensuring it coats the fish inside the scores as well.
  3. Marinate the fish for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in a pan for shallow frying.
  5. Coat the marinated fish with rice flour and shallow fry until crispy and golden brown on both sides.
  6. Remove the fried fish from the pan and place it on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve hot with sliced onions, lemon wedges, and a side of coconut chutney.
