Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) chicken or beef, cut into cubes
- 1 cup (240ml) soy sauce
- 1/2 cup (120ml) sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp ground white pepper
- 1/4 cup (60ml) vegetable oil
- Skewers, soaked in water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, garlic, coriander, cumin, turmeric, white pepper, and vegetable oil.
- Add the chicken or beef cubes to the marinade and let it sit for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- Thread the marinated meat onto the soaked skewers.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and grill the skewers for about 10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked through and slightly charred.
- Serve the Ponorogo Satay with peanut sauce and steamed rice.
