Pork Sorpotel Sliders

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork, cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 10-12 dry red chilies
  • 1 inch ginger, chopped
  • 8-10 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp black peppercorns
  • Salt to taste
  • 12 slider buns

Instructions

  1. In a pot, combine the pork, vinegar, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 1 hour.
  2. In a blender, combine the dry red chilies, ginger, garlic, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and black peppercorns. Blend into a smooth paste.
  3. After the pork has simmered for 1 hour, add the spice paste and salt to the pot. Cook for an additional 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pork is tender and the flavors are well combined.
  4. Toast the slider buns and assemble the sliders with the pork sorpotel filling.
