Ingredients

  • 500g reindeer meat, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 250g mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef or reindeer broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced reindeer meat and cook until browned. Remove the meat from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sliced mushrooms. Cook until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables and stir to combine.
  5. Pour in the broth and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
  6. Return the cooked reindeer meat to the skillet and stir in the sour cream. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Simmer for a few more minutes until the meat is heated through and the flavors are well combined.
  8. Serve the porostroganoff hot, accompanied by mashed potatoes or lingonberry sauce.
