Portuguese Pork Sandwich (bifana)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork loin, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 crusty bread rolls
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup white wine

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the pork slices, minced garlic, paprika, oregano, cumin, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat the pork evenly. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated pork slices and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. Pour in the white wine and simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the alcohol to evaporate and the sauce to thicken.
  4. Split the bread rolls and fill each with the cooked pork slices. Spoon some of the pan sauce over the pork.
  5. Serve the Portuguese Pork Sandwiches hot and enjoy!
