Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the sliced onions and green chilies. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
  2. Add the cubed potatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Now, add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and the oil separates.
  4. Sprinkle garam masala and mix gently. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
