Potato And Pea Samosas

Ingredients

  • 2 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 cup green peas, boiled
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • Salt to taste
  • 12 sheets of samosa pastry
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a pan, heat some oil and add the cumin seeds. Once they start to sizzle, add the chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
  2. Add the mashed potatoes, boiled green peas, garam masala, turmeric, and salt. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let the filling cool.
  3. Take a sheet of samosa pastry and fold it into a cone shape. Fill the cone with the potato and pea filling and seal the edges using a flour-water paste.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the samosas until they are golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  5. Serve the potato and pea samosas hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
